Doctor Who: Wish World Review - 4 Ups & 6 Downs

2. UP - A Cameo We Actually Wanted

Doctor Who Wish World Rogue

RTD thinks I’m sitting here jumping up and down because the Rani is back, or Omega is on his way, or even Susan. I’m not. For me, the only twist that actually caught me off guard and genuinely excited me was seeing Rogue again. I’m absolutely delighted.

I think after last season, a lot of viewers were expecting another episode with Rogue this year, and it became very obvious very quickly that it wasn’t to be the case. I was, in all honesty, slightly worried that the entire arc was going to be abandoned, which would have been devastating as more of Rogue was just about the only hanging thread from Season 1 that left me excited.

Is it a little disappointing that he essentially popped by to drop exposition like Jack Harkness did with the Lone Cyberman? Yes. But I’ll settle for knowing he hasn’t been forgotten, and that maybe we’ll get a follow-up, if not next week, then in the Season 3 everyone is convinced isn’t happening. Full-time companion, maybe?
