8. Jon Pertwee€™s Endless Ruffles

Doctor Who Pertwee Delgado The 70s were a time in fashion history that many would seek to have stricken from the record. It was a time of flares, chest hair and big old shoes. and the Doctor, in spite of being able to travel through all of time and space, seems to have decided that 1970s England would be a good place to pick up some fashion tips. As a result, he ended up with the definitive Pertwee look - crushed velvet, ruffles, and capes. Blimey. Credit must be given when it's due, though. The Third Doctor's look managed to give his incarnation a range of different costumes without ever compromising his style, however one of the things that severely dates the look of the Third Doctor is his endless array of ruffles on display. Almost every single shirt sported by Pertwee in the role has a voluminous array of folds and frills which, while certainly eccentric, only serve to show the age of the episodes. If only they'd been left out and fans would no doubt be seeing Pertwee€™s costume age as well as Tom Baker€™s look. Speaking of which...
