Emmys 2016 Nominations: 12 Major Shocks & Snubs
4. Snub - Two Of HBO's Big Shows Are Overlooked
Thanks to Game of Thrones, Veep, and Silicon Valley, HBO is once again leading the way in terms of network/cable channel nominations. However, it might've expected to receive even more, with two of its big shows from 2015 missing out.
The Limited Series section is one of the most hotly contested, jam-packed up great shows such as Fargo and The People V. O.J. Simpson, but Show Me A Hero deserves to be in there as well. A superbly crafted political drama and character study, it should be in contention for not only the main award in that category, but Best Actor for its star, a certain Oscar Isaac. Then again, David Simon was often overlooked for The Wire, so maybe Emmy voters just don't understand his furious greatness.
Similarly, it was surprising to see one of the most talked about and acclaimed shows of last year, The Leftovers, missing out as well. The show turned itself around in its second season, topped a lot of Best Of lists, but manages to come away empty handed here.
