Every Time The Simpons REALLY Killed Characters
8. Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky
His appearances may have been few and far between, but the impact that Hyman had on Krusty's character arc is inescapable.
First appearing back in season three's 'Like Father, Like Clown', Hyman Krustofsky was shown to be a man of tradition, hoping that one day his son would follow in his footsteps and become a Rabbi. Krusty obviously had very different ideas and the two didn't speak to one another for many years.
With a little help from the Simpsons, they eventually reconciled and formed a healthy relationship, which in turn allowed Krusty to openly embrace his Jewish roots, instead of hiding them from the world.
From there Hyman would often appear whenever Krusty was in need of advice or religious guidance. His father's immense knowledge and support managed to see him through many difficult times and as a result, made him a better man.
Krusty often mused on whether or not his father truly appreciated his style of comedy, so in the season twenty-six episode 'Clown in the Dumps', he decided to finally ask him. Hyman simply uttered the word 'Eh' and suddenly died, leaving Krusty with both a gaping void in his life and an even worse inferiority complex.
