In any time travel story, there are usually great consequences for doing the wrong thing or abusing such a power. In ‘Roswell that Ends Well’ Fry managed to become his own Grampa, and in ‘Bender’s Big Score’ the very fabric of the universe was ripped.

Granted, this came when Bender brought back from the past with him a bunch of time paradox duplicates that together caused the rift in space, but Nibbler made it very clear from the very beginning that even a single use of the time code could shatter the universe.

Nudar and his partners didn’t care until they finished stealing every valuable artifact from history, which was to be expected, but you would at least have thought that the heroes of the story would have listened. Not Fry.

In his defence, the first time he used it was to escape his almost certain death. If he hadn’t fled into the past Nudar would have had him killed. However, once in the year 2000, in spite of knowing the potential consequences of using the code, he again read the binary to go back in time one hour to get warm pizza. Yes, he risked the entire universe for one lukewarm pizza.
