Game Of Thrones: 10 Questions We're Asking After 'High Sparrow'

9. What Are The Sparrows' Motives?

Much like The Sons Of The Harpy in Meereen, we're largely in the dark about who the Sparrows really are. Lancel Lannister's return is no doubt significant, and the episode's namesake character, the High Sparrow, was also revealed to be a Christ-like figure, providing charity within the slums of the capital. We witnessed Lancel dragging the High Septum out of a brothel during the middle of a bizarre 'ceremony', and forcing him to walk through the city streets naked as a punishment for his sins. Cersei imprisons the High Septum, and seeks out a potential new alliance with the High Sparrow, but the motives behind both characters are still unknown.
