Game of Thrones: 10 Storylines So Boring They'll Put You To Sleep
10. Tyrion Travels To Meereen
This may seem a little harsh since the storyline has barely got started yet. Also, the end of the previous episode with Jorah and Tyrion's encounter with the Stone Men suggests things might become very interesting very quickly. Still, there are a couple of worrying signs. Tyrion and Varys are among the most engaging characters on the show, and they have good chemistry, but putting them in a cabin together on the road didn't quite work out. Varys in particular is at his best in the capital, listening to whispers, operating in the shadows as King's Landing's chief puppeteer. Remove him from that environment, and he's a far less effective character. Then there's Tyrion. Seeing him wallow in self-pity was necessary, and the sort of reaction you would expect after all he's been through, but it wasn't the most enjoyable Game of Thrones moment. To top it all, Jorah's kidnapping deprives us even longer of the meeting between Daenerys and Tyrion. When it finally comes off, it will, of course, be great, but until then it's hard not to be frustrated by yet another side-step.
