3. No Lady Stoneheart

It’s a truly shocking moment when Lady Stoneheart appears in the epilogue of A Clash Of Kings, the kind that makes eyes pop and jaws drop. Because, of course, Stoneheart is the reanimated corpse of one of the deceased major characters in the show, now accompanying the Brotherhood Without Banners and on a mission to kill as many Freys, Boltons and Lannisters as they can find.

There was understandably great anticipation for the arrival of Stoneheart in the show, but when the Season 4 finale came and went, she hadn’t turned up. Quotes emerged about her being left out, and that it seemed unlikely she’d ever appear.

We’re still holding out hope for a surprise appearance, but as the show goes on it becomes less and less likely. It’s a major omission because of how shocking it is, not in terms of plot, as we don’t know yet how significant a character she’ll be. Fans are already annoyed she hasn’t turned up, and that’ll only intensify if she never does.
