As everyone knows, Margaery Tyrell's not above using her feminine wiles and ridiculously revealing wardrobe to get what she wants, and what she wants is to be Queen. She's getting her wish, and judging by that look, she's going to continue scheming until she's ran out of ideas/clothes. Then she'll drag her grandmother in to verbally punt everyone up the wall. Can't wait!
8. The Viper's Smirk
The first newcomer on this poster trawl, Oberyn Martell is a mystery wrapped in an enigma wrapped in an exotic accent. Brought onscreen by Pedro Pascal, he's a Dornish Prince with a Casanova-esque reputation and comes to King's Landing at the behest of Tywin Lannister. He's the brother of the previous murdered Princess Elia Martell, and you'll probably be told this during sexposition.
7. Petyr Baelish Looking Apprehensive
Aidan Gillen's Petyr Baelish was last seen departing King's Landing for The Vale, having taken a mini-hiatus after his 'Chaos Is A Ladder' speech. He'll be back, and wooing Lysa Arryn with his curiously broken English accent. He's taking a break from smirking in this picture, maybe acknowledging his precarious position as he attempts to bring his neutral childhood home back into the Kingdom.
6. Sansa Stark's Suspicion
Poor Sansa Stark really has been dealt a bad lot. First engaged to Joffrey, who chopped her father's head off, the eldest Stark daughter spent last season being tricked out of a safe marriage to Loras Tyrell and into a similarly loveless one with Tyrion before learning her brother and mother had both been brutally murdered. Anyone would be hardened up by that, and she looks like she's plotting in the poster. Hell, what else has she got to lose?
5. The Hound, Looking Grim
With the poster showing the Hound in his default grim expression, you know Arya's going to get on his wick this season for at least for a bit. Expect Leon-styled shenanigans, but with the creepy sexual undertones replaced with ultraviolent, sword-based murder. And bickering. Lots of bickering.
4. Tormund Giantsbane's Thousand Yard Stare
Mance Rayder's second-in-command's got a job on this time round. Last seen trying to murder Jon Snow, Tormund and his magnificent beard are going to aid in the assault on The Wall. That'll explain the look in the picture, then.
3. Tyrion In Shackles
Usually these posters would have you concentrate on the face, but seeing as Peter Dinklage's Tyrion appears to be in chains, it's stupid not to focus on that instead. Of course, we can't tell you why he's in them just trust us when we say it's for serious business, and not an average night on the sauce.
2. Tywin Lannister's Quiet Disapproval
No doubt Tyrion's predicament has something to do with this chap. Joffrey aside, Charles Dance's Tywin Lannister is the closest the show has to an antagonist and he seems to trade in sudden fury, withering put-downs and disapproving glances. The latter tend to be reserved for his children, and it's what he wears across his face here.
1. Ygritte Looking Inscrutable
Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned, and that goes double when that woman is a dab hand at archery. Needless to say, Rose Leslie's Ygritte's on the warpath this time round, and out for the blood of one-time lover Jon Snow. But when it all comes down to it, what's she going to do? She doesn't look that angry in the above picture, at least. That's your lot, I'm afraid. What do you make of the posters? Are you excited for the new season of Game Of Thrones? Feel free to comment!
