3. Catelyn Stark

Catelyn is one character that many book fans have been expecting to return for seasons now. In the books, she is killed but is resurrected by Beric Dondarrion of the Brotherhood Without Banners and returns as Lady Stoneheart to seek revenge on her son's killers. But don't get too excited, the story has long-past that point and while the show's creators are fully-aware that fans want to see it happen, they're unsure as to what benefit it would bring to the series. It feels as though Stoneheart won't be happening in the same way as the books, but don't be surprised to see other characters come back under similar circumstances.
