Game Of Thrones: Ranking Every Season 6 Storyline From Worst To Best

8. Daenerys M.I.A.

Game Of Thrones Season 6 Euron Greyjoy Jon Snow
HBO

Key Characters: Daenerys Targaryen, Tyrion Lannister, Varys, Jorah Mormont, Daario Naharis, Grey Worm, Missandei

Best Moment: Daenerys murders a tent full of khals.

Worst Moment: Tyrion reduced to a pile of one-liners.

This storyline will probably only ever be remembered for its good points: Daenerys burning down a tent full of khals and making an Independence Day-esque speech on the back of a dragon. It's easy to forget how much nonsense went on outside of those moments, however.

Take for example, Tyrion. Outside of a couple of one-liners and coming face to face with a dragon, Tyrion is given very little to do, reducing the show's most popular character to one of its most bland storylines. Effectively in charge of Meereen, the show fails to fully capitalize on Tyrion being handed the reins.

Then there's the Daenerys scenes. She effectively comes full circle since the beginning of the series, frustrating fans that have grown to despise the lack of direction in her storylines. Jorah and Daario's constant bickering over her favor also becomes irritating very quickly. Even after Daenerys's memorable moments, it's back to more episodes of her wandering the desert.

The combination of the awesome and the bland makes this one of the most average storylines Game of Thrones has ever produced. It is a storyline that ended with a bang. It just took a lot of whimpering to get there.
