Game Of Thrones Season 6: 8 Things You Might've Missed In 'Blood Of My Blood'
1. Brotherhood Without Banners
One of the most interesting comments was one that was merely in passing, and could easily have gone unnoticed, with Walder Frey stating: "The Brotherhood Without Banners is rallying the commoners against us."
The Brotherhood, much like many characters who've appeared this season and specifically this episode, haven't been seen in years, yet this one line - and the return to the Riverlands - certainly seems like it's setting up their comeback (and at least Thoros of Myr is already confirmed to return at some point).
What does this mean though? This is where things go into the book spoilers, and discuss a certain Lady. I'd long-since given up on Stoneheart ever coming to the show, but just when I thought I was out, they've pulled me back in.
This episode contains a number of other characters coming back, it returns to the Riverlands when it wasn't a complete necessity, and it continues the theme of believed-dead Starks coming back in Season 6. With Brienne and Jaime headed there as well, there are a number of pieces that fit together meaning it feels like a distinct possibility. Probably just getting hopes up again, but the clues are there, particularly in this episode which sees Benjen (Coldhands is another character I'd long given up on appearing in the show), Edmure, and the Blackfish (in name) come back.
At the very least, Weiss and Benioff, give us Gendry!
