Game Of Thrones Season 6: 9 Book Storylines That Could Still Be Used

3. Brienne Meets The Elder Brother

Brienne Game Of Thrones
HBO

What Is It? On the hunt for Sansa Stark, Brienne is travelling around the Riverlands, after hearing that Sandor Clegane is there with the Stark girl (unbeknownst to Brienne at that point, the wrong one). She makes her way to a place called the Quiet Isle, a monastery where male penitents undertake servitude to the Faith and a vow of silence.

It's here she meets the Elder Brother, a former soldier who had been left for dead at the Battle of the Trident. He informs her that it was Arya Stark, not Sansa, Sandor Clegane was with, but also assures her that the Hound is dead.

Odds Of It Happening? Good, although it'll have to be a rather different take on the story. Brienne has already met Sandor and Arya in the books, and knows Sansa is in the North, so it's unlikely she'd go there for that purpose. However, we've already seen her at Riverrun in the latest trailer, so she does go to the Riverlands.

Add that to the almost certainty that Ian McShane is playing the Elder Brother - based on various comments about his character only being in one episode, and bringing back a believed dead character - and with that in mind, it'd make sense for Brienne to still run into him. And with that, we can move a step closer to CleganeBowl. Get hype.
