Game Of Thrones Season 6: 9 Book Storylines That Could Still Be Used

2. The North Remembers

What Is It? Stannis sends Ser Davos to White Harbour, where he discovers a plot to unseat the Boltons from Winterfell and restore the Starks to power in the North. Lord Wyman Manderly, aka Lord-Too-Fat-To-Sit-A-Horse, pretends to kill Davos, but actually sends him to Skagos to retrieve Rickon Stark. The Manderlys also attend the wedding of Arya Stark (actually Jeyne Poole) and Ramsay Bolton, with the strong suggestion that Wyman has had three Freys (whom he hates as much the Boltons) baked into pies.

Odds Of It Happening? The Davos and Rickon subplot is looking pretty impossible, but in a way they are still appearing to be going ahead with elements of this storyline, and a wider one in the sense of the North remaining loyal to the Starks and wanting to restore them to power.

Casting calls from last year did indicate the addition of Manderly, and a few other Northern Lords as well, and we know there's going to be a big battle involving the Boltons and, based on the previous trailer, Starks, wildlings, and houses Hornwood, Mormont, and Umber.

Then there's the fact that the Boltons seem to have Rickon, based on Ramsay's "little man" line and the fact the Umbers - which is where Rickon went - appear to be siding with them. The return of the Freys, at what looks like a wedding no less, means there's also the chance (maybe it's just blind hope) that Frey pies could happen.
