Game Of Thrones Season 6 Finale: 10 Ups And 2 Downs From 'The Winds Of Winter'

Game of Thrones Jon Snow King in the North

KING IN THE NORTH!

Man, I've forgotten how fun it was to have a bunch of Northerners shouting that over and over again, and it's a great moment to hear it aimed at Jon Snow.

It starts with that rousing speech from Lyanna Mormont, but then the Manderlys (it was nice to have Lord Manderly finally appear) and the Glovers and all the others are taking their turn and pledging allegiance to Ned Stark's bastard. For a man who has always been told he isn't a real Stark, this was a hugely gratifying time for him. Jon is the most like Ned of all the Stark kids, even if he isn't actually Ned's, and to that end it makes sense that he'd be the one chosen to be the North's new leader: an honourable man, and a great warrior. It's the position of power befitting a character of his stature, and puts him perfectly placed for the threat of the White Walkers, but also, if necessary, a fight against Cersei in the south as well.

The only sticking point here is the relationship between Littlefinger and Sansa. Also she apologises to Jon and rejects Baelish's advances, the two are the only ones in the room not shouting for Jon, and this potential rivalry is far from over.
