Game Of Thrones Season 6 Finale: 8 Things You Might've Missed In 'The Winds Of Winter'

2. The White Wolf

All hail Jon Snow, the White Wolf, Lord of Winterfell and King in the North!

KING IN THE NORTH!

KING IN THE...sorry, it's just rather addictive (and even worse when you actually start shouting it out loud).

Jon being dubbed the White Wolf is a nice nod to Robb Stark, who was called the Young Wolf, and of course a reference to his direwolf, Ghost. However, it takes on added meaning when considering his status as the new Lord of Winterfell and King in the North.

As a bastard (well, as far as he and the Northerners think, anyway), Jon isn't able to use the Stark name, nor its sigil - a grey direwolf on a white background. Bastards can, however, use their family's sigil with the colours reversed, meaning Jon's would literally be a white wolf.
