Game Of Thrones Season 7 Implications: What "The Spoils Of War" Really Means

10. Arya Is Home (And Will Go To War)

Game Of Thrones Arya Winterfell

After disappearing last episode, Arya is finally back at Winterfell, and a few tears of joy will have been shared seeing her and Sansa reunited.

For a while, it doesn't seem that Arya feels like she's at home: everything has changed and she seems uneasy. But then her meeting with Sansa seems to bring back more of the old Arya who has been lost since.

Interestingly, Bran gives Arya the Catspaw Dagger, as he suspects she has some use for it. Has he foreseen her being involved in slaying a White Walker in her near future? It would be a travesty if she wasn't included in the fight (especially as her arc involves an empowering message about defying expectations of daughters and allowing them to war. Just like Mulan) and this all but confirms she'll be there.

Incidentally, why would Sansa entrust the security of her gates to two complete wankers? And why would anyone take a soldier with such a rotund physique seriously? He's going to be absolutely useless in battle, which is perhaps the point of that sequence. It's not just for a few cheap laughs, it's to show that the Stark army isn't actually very good. Hence Jon needing Dany's help.
