Game Of Thrones Season 8: 15 Stupid Blunders That Completely Ruined It
1. Only Being Six Episodes
But ultimately, the biggest problem with season 8 – which plagued season 7 as well – is that there simply weren’t enough episodes to tell this story.
Had the final two seasons had their standard 10 episodes, the series could have truly earned its conclusion. Daenerys turning into the Mad Queen would have worked with proper buildup, the threat of the white walkers could have lasted much longer so that their defeat would have been more satisfying, and Jon could have actually done something of significance other than killing Dany.
It wouldn’t have solved many of the terrible writing decisions, but it would have allowed more time for the season to breathe and give the series a proper ending.
Sadly, by cramming so much story into only six episodes, and with all the other terrible decisions made, the final season turned out a massive disappointment. The finale itself was actually pretty decent, but the rush to finish the series was what ultimately ruined it.
Game of Thrones, you deserved better.
