Game Of Thrones Season 8: Everything We Learned From EW's Cover Story

4. It Opens At Winterfell

One of the big reveals contains details of the Season 8 premiere, and how it begins. The report outlines it as such:

"Season 8 opens at Winterfell with an episode that contains plenty of callbacks to the show’s pilot. Instead of King Robert’s procession arriving, it’s Daenerys and her army. What follows is a thrilling and tense intermingling of characters - some of whom have never previously met, many who have messy histories - as they all prepare to face the inevitable invasion of the Army of the Dead."

Given where Season 7 left off, that isn't a huge surprise, with Winterfell set to be right at the heart of the action after the White Walkers broke through the Wall. Game of Thrones also loves things coming full circle, so repeating the scene from Season 1, but with some different - and some familiar, given Tyrion will be there - characters should be great to see.
