We've known for some time that Season 8 will include the biggest battle ever done on TV, with a shoot that lasted 55 nights (over double the Battle of the Bastards), but a few new details have been revealed about that epic clash between the living and the dead.

Firstly, it turns out that 55 nights is actually an UNDERSTATEMENT of what happened. That was the outdoor shoot, but director Miguel Sapochnik reportedly kept on shooting scenes for the battle for weeks afterwards in the studio.

The report also notes that there isn't just one focus here, like Jon in Bastards, but instead it switches between multiple characters, each locked in their own battle for survival. Winterfell has been expanded, with a new tower and bigger courtyard, and the episode is wall-to-wall action.

Says Peter Dinklage, "It’s brutal. It makes the Battle of the Bastards look like a theme park.”
