Game Of Thrones: 10 Most Powerful Warriors

8. Robert Baratheon

HBOHBOIt is virtually impossible to entirely eradicate the image of the over-nourished, drunken King Robert from our minds but we must remember that before the events depicted in the show, the ruler who was overcome by the potent combination of a boar and too much wine was a formidable warrior. Robert didn€™t start the rebellion against the Mad King Aerys II because he was the man best suited to sit in the Iron Throne €“ rather it was Robert€™s incredible might as a warrior which united the downtrodden populace of Westeros against their oppressor. The mighty Stag might not be as technically skillful as some of the other warriors featured on this list but his ability to crush bone and armour with a swing of his mighty warhammer that makes him a truly formidable opponent for anybody in the Seven Kingdoms he once ruled. Robert wasn€™t just a master of slaying scores of lesser foot soldiers. He vanquished a more technical opponent in Rhaegar Targaryen at the Battle of the Trident; arguably the finest moment in Robert's military career. Before the days when the man who sat in the Iron Throne even knew what a breastplate stretcher was, he was one of the most powerful warriors in all of Westeros. Years of feasting, drinking and whoring may have undone the image of the King as a mighty fighter but it must be remembered that it was Robert€™s skill as a warrior alone which won him the throne.
