7. Brienne Of Tarth

HBOIf there was any doubt over how capable a warrior Brienne of Tarth was, the sole surviving child and heir of Lord Selwyn Tarth squashed this with her brutalisation of Sandor Clegane who probably would have had this spot had he not been soundly defeated. Not only did Brienne defeat a very formidable opponent in the Hound but she effectively did it twice after giving her foe the opportunity to call a truce after overcoming him. Brienne is often mocked for being a very powerful woman in an otherwise male-dominated land but it is very unwise to risk aggravating such a dangerous warrior. The first time we encounter the so-called Maid of Tarth she wins a tournament fought against the men of Renley Baratheon and proves herself to be the superior of the vast majority of the men who mock her. We also see her fight with Jaime Lannister without being killed a feat in its own right. The Hounds treachery may well have made Brienne question whether she should continue to fight honourably outside of tourney-combat this will make the imposing woman an even more dangerous opponent.
