Game Of Thrones: 7 Things We Learned From "The Mountain And The Viper"

2. The Hound€™s Plan Is Ruined

As we€™ve learned in this show, sometimes things don€™t go the way you expect them to. After traveling for who knows how long, Arya and The Hound finally arrive at the Vale. While approaching the entrance, Arya complains about how she wasn€™t able to kill Joffrey, or at least watch him die. Sandor says that poison is a woman€™s weapon, which prompts Arya to ridicule him, saying he€™ll never be a good killer with that thinking. We also see that the bite he got last episode is still bothering Sandor, which has slowed down his pace. Luckily for them, they don€™t have to walk much farther. Arriving at the gate, Sandor announces himself and Arya to the gate commander. The commander offers his condolences and informs them that Lysa Arryn died three days earlier. After a moment of silence, Arya starts laughing hysterically. She€™s fully aware of how ironic this is. First, the Hound has been lugging Arya across Westeros to ransom her to her aunt for a reward. After all he€™s gone through, it was all for naught. Second, Lysa was the last remaining relative still living (that she knows of). With her dead, Arya truly has no one left. Apparently she sees some sort of morbid humor in all this. The audience probably does as well.
