Game Of Thrones Season 5: 10 Most Intriguing Castings So Far
5. Charles Dance As Tywin Lannister
One can never have enough of Charles Dance, a stance presumably adopted by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. Yes, Charles Dance is returning to Game of Thrones, despite his alter-ego meeting a ghastly death at the climax of season four. His re-casting excited many fans, who believed him to be pivotal to the flashback scene touted to appear in the opening episode. Alas, this flashback reportedly goes to a younger Cercei and her encounters with Maggy the Frog, though if that is the case Dance could play Tywin opposite the younger Cercei. Heres hoping! All of that aside, Dance has been confirmed to simply be playing a corpse of Tywin, in a similar manner to Jack Gleeson in season four. As Maggy hasnt been confirmed to appear in season five as of yet, the show runners could be attempting to shock viewers and having Tywin alive (in a flashback, at least) would certainly shock many.
