Games Of Thrones Season 7: What 'Eastwatch' Really Means

10. Game Recognises Game

Game of Thrones Drogon Jon
HBO

Of all the meetings in 'Eastwatch', the most fan-baiting and important took place on the cliffs of Dragonstone when Dany landed an unnecessarily angry Drogon right next to Jon Snow and the King In The North basically went full dragon whisperer.

Given how volatile these creatures are, seeing Jon allowed to pet Drogon (who presumably just shook off the scorpion injury immediately) is a huge, huge deal. And while she might not have put the jigsaw pieces together entirely correctly (seeming to take their immediate bond as some kind of indication that she should fancy Jon more), Dany has never had a bigger hint that Jon is a Targaryen right under her nose.

We're getting closer to Jon actually getting on the back of one of those wonderful creatures. Now all we need is for HBO to set aside enough budget to allow more than one to do things on screen at the same time.

Also, even when Dany seems to be intrigued, rather than terrified by the idea, Jon still won't talk about that time he was dead and then he wasn't. Given their increasingly close bond, you have to wonder what's holding him back? Does he have zombie shame? Is he afraid she'll be too turned off?
