Glee: 5 Awesome Celebrity Guest Stars and 5 That Sucked

4. Lindsey Lohan/Perez Hilton as "Themselves"

If there is one thing I particularly hate about Glee it is when they bring in buzzed about celebrities for cameo roles and have them play evil versions of themselves. Lindsey Lohan and Perez Hilton (not Paris Hilton) were two of the celebrity judges on one of Glee's greatest episodes of all time- the episode in which they finally win the Nationals trophy they have been trying to get hold of since the very first episode, three season prior. Neither of them were written any lines that made me chuckle even slightly and the brief scene in which they were judging the Glee Clubs was a complete buzz kill that completely ruined the flow of an otherwise fantastic episode. Lindsey Lohan's appearance on Glee was particularly embarrassing. At the time there was a lot in the media about Lindsey and she was attempting to make somewhat of a comeback, but her appearance on Glee just emphasized what a mess this actress really was. Now I used to be a big fan of Lindsey Lohan, and I am sure if they had given her an actual fictional character to play (like she did on Ugly Betty), perhaps mirroring her character from Mean Girls then her appearance wouldn't have been all that bad- but this was shameless stunt casting at the very worst that did nothing to help Lindsey Lohan's career or Glee's respectability.

I am a recent Screenwriting for Film and Television graduate from the UK. I am an unashamed geek who loves everything Marvel, and anything Joss Whedon has ever touched (except for maybe Alien Resurrection and Titan A.E). My current favorite TV shows are Breaking Bad, Family Guy, House of Cards, Game of Thrones, American Horror Story, Homeland and Glee. I look forward to debating things with all of you in the future.
