Good Cop: 10 Reasons It Needs Another Series

5. The Show Is Culturally And Socially Relevant

During its run, Good Cop became a culturally and socially relevant TV show following the deaths of PC Fiona Bone and Nichola Hughes in September - the two officers gunned down in the line of duty. This led to the postponement of the final episode of the show as the BBC deemed that the episode featured scenes that would be considered distressing to the victims' friends and family. Another big reason factored into the decision to postpone the episode were the scenes of violence concerning female police officer Constable Amanda Morgan (Kerrie Hayes) That these scenes of violence against a female officer were still allowed to be broadcast weeks after the funerals of Hughes and Bone is a testament to the shows will to document real life events. In doing so, Good Cop basically stated: "That's life in the force" and acknowledged that unfortunately, these things do happen. In doing so, the show stood out by the realistic nature of its content - and that's what all good TV shows should have - realism.
