House Of Cards: 10 Predictions For Season 3

7. Jackie Sharp Makes Her Own Play

If there was one character who displayed anything even approaching Underwoodian levels of ambition and ruthlessness, it was Frank's successor as House Majority Whip, Jackie Sharp. She now finds herself almost exactly where Frank started the show way back in Season 1 - the leader of the house, in a position of huge importance and power, but with something of an axe to grind with the administration. Jackie was at loggerheads with Claire in the run up to Walker's downfall, and looked astonished to be approached by Frank to help execute his endgame, however the incentive of being on the winning side was sufficient to sway her. Whether she's buried the hatchet completely now or is still holding a grudge remains to be seen, but with so much turmoil on the cards in Season 3 her astonishing ascent up the ladder of power in Washington probably won't stop. It's not just the cabinet that she might have her eye on though. Her relationship with Remy Denton seemed to open her eyes to a powerful career outside the White House, and Jackie Sharp knocking on their door for a favour would strike the fear into any politician.
