6. David Gest
Any man who had struck up a close friendship with Michael Jackson is sure to have the characteristics to make TV gold. With a face only a mother could love and a failed marriage to Liza Minnelli under his belt, David Gest was tipped to steal the show on series 6. 2006 was the year known as the Battle of the Sexes, and David and the other male contestants were part of Team Base Camp. He took a cocky approach to tasks, in the Flash Floods challenge, he hilariously said to a crocodile, "Move out the way you b*stard." However it soon transpired he wasn't a fan of spiders and every other word that came from his mouth was bleeped. He soon composed himself and managed to get 6 stars. Renowned for his dramatic and sometimes fictitious stories, he kept his fellow contestants guessing if they were true or false. The infamous Vaginica story, in which he claimed his friend had been named this after their "mother loved her own body part so much, if she had a girl she said she was going to call it Vaginica" is an example of the of the complete bollocks which seemed to fall out of his mouth. While the campers were able to see through his over-active imagination, in the somewhat dull jungle environment, his stories brought some much needed entertainment. Who can forget his infamous Get Me Out of Here jungle duet with Toby Anstis, which hurtled the eccentric star to fame. Whilst he only finished 4th on I'm a Celeb, his weird ways proved to be so popular with the Great British public that he went on to get three prime time television series after the show finished. Gest continues to work in the public domain and which his unique look and OTT approach it is unlikely he will fade into the background anytime soon.
