It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia: The Worst Episode From Every Season
13. Season 2 - The Gang Runs For Office
Politics and Always Sunny are a recipe for hilarity, but this episode only manages to brush on that. There are some great highlights, but overall, it feels bland and flavourless, especially as the character's allegiances change so much that nothing feels tangible.
In this one, the gang discover you can receive bribes to drop out of political races, so run for the position of local comptroller. However, in typical Always Sunny fashion, a feud breaks out between them as allegiances switch and feelings are hurt.
Overall, everything here is funny, with Frank trying to give Dee a career and essentially turning her into a mistress being an unexpected highlight, and Charlie's poorly written speech becoming a classic moment. But, the mess of interconnecting stories and ever-changing alliances makes it feel chaotic and all over the place.
Always Sunny has played with betrayal and feuds within the gang before to great success ("The Gang Gets Held Hostage" being one of the best examples). Still, the fundamentals here are askew, as no one seems to know what's going on, and you'll be too distracted to find many laughs.
