12. Season 3 - The Gang Sells Out
On paper, this one has all the ingredients to be a tasty dish. The idea of money tearing the gang apart is solid, the thought of seeing Charlie and Dee try to ply their trade elsewhere is a hilarious idea, and you even get to shine a bit of a spotlight on The Waitress. But it mostly comes across as okay.
In "The Gang Sells Out", the owners of Paddy's Pub receive an offer to buy out the bar, and they start to consider it. But, of course, they work hard to get a better deal, leading to predictable results. Also, Dee gets a job alongside The Waitress at the chain restaurant trying to buy Paddy's.
Unfortunately, this episode fails to capitalise on its amusing premise. Watching the gang navigate the world of executives and money was a good start, but it never feels particularly nuanced. Nothing is exciting or unpredictable here, as the gang demand too much and fail just as you'd expect them to.
Plus, while Dee's time alongside The Waitress is fun, it's not enough to spice the episode up.
