5. The Directing Is Great

The show had a very clear aesthetic from the get-go, and with its new (all female) directing team it doubles-down on the noir this time around, which just makes the show look even better.

This is a series that, in many ways, could be ripped straight from the 1940s, and yet given a very modern sheen; there are a number of shots and editing tricks that make the series really pop visually. That's especially the case as it goes harder into Jessica's work as a P.I., and there's a wonderfully dark, tense, and moody atmosphere created by the likes of Deborah Chow and Minkie Spiro, while superhero vets like Mairzee Almas are capable of capturing the bursts of action.

The blend of comic book and noir, which is even more realised this time around, gives this world its own vibe that's unlike much else at the moment, and means it's great to lose yourself in this shadowy corner of Hell's Kitchen.
