Lantern: 10 Things You Need To Know About The Newly Announced Green Lantern TV Series

2. Kilowog And Sinestro Will Also Appear

So, those are the human leads, but who will be joining them? In 2011's Green Lantern movie, Ryan Reynolds was surrounded by CGI characters, most of whom...well, they looked like they had just been lifted straight from a video game.

Technology has advanced a lot since then, of course (especially on television), so the alien characters portrayed here are likely to look much better. The first confirmed for Lantern is fan-favourite Green Lantern Corps member Kilowog, the drill sergeant responsible for training new recruits and one of this outer space police force's most formidable members.

As for Sinestro, he's one of Hal Jordan's greatest enemies and the leader of the Sinestro Corps (who derive their power from fear rather than will). Before that, however, he was also a Green Lantern, and it wasn't until Hal exposed his extremist values that he relieved of duty.

Whether he'll be a full-blown villain here or still a "good guy" remains to be seen, but it might be more interesting to explore his origin story in greater depth.
