Lucifer: 10 Most Heartbreaking Moments From The Series
3. Lucifer's Hell Loop
Remember when Lucifer had to kill his own brother? Well, he sure does.
In season two, our boy Lucy found himself having to make an impossible choice. Allow his brother Uriel to set fate in motion to kill Chloe, or kill his own flesh and blood right then and there. It was a no-win scenario. He of course choose to save Chloe and kill Uriel, but even though his hand was forced, it didn't make the guilt any less severe.
A quick refresher on Hell is needed for this next bit. In the world of Lucifer, Hell is a place where you punish yourself. Your own guilt and regret become weapons turned against you, torturing you for eternity in a twisted time loop of your own making.
So, later in the season in the episode "A Good Day To Die" when Lucifer had to make a trip down to Hell to save Chloe's life from a toxin, this is exactly what happened to him. He found himself in his own personal Hell loop, one where he was forced to kill Uriel over and over again. Each subsequent killing broke his heart more and more, and in turn, broke ours too.
Who could have thought that Hell would have been so... hellish.
