Marvel's The Punisher Review: 6 Ups And 3 Downs
2. Punisher And Micro's Relationship

The show's plot itself isn't as interesting as the main pairing it leads to: Frank Castle and David Lieberman, aka Micro.
While anyone remotely familiar with the comics knew the unlikely duo would end up working together, their partnership in the show becomes something deep and surprising over the course of 13 episodes. It starts off as your archetypal reluctant odd coupling, but develops into a strong, brotherly bond that's touching, dramatic, and funny in equal measure.
It's fascinating to see how the two play off each other, with a great chemistry between Bernthal and Bachrach. They're both great when it comes to them warring with each other over how to approach something or feeling betrayed by the other, like with Frank/Pete's visits to Micro's family, but there are moments of real hilarity too (yes, that includes when David tries to show Frank his penis).
This is Frank Castle's story above anything else, and it may be the memory of his family that pushed him here, but it's the relationship with Micro that really drives this series and gives us something worthy of investing in.
