How I Met Your Mother: 7 Mistakes Made In Season 9
4. Overloaded Finale
As disappointing as the final season was, the final two-part episode was even more atrocious. We got years worth of rapid-fire story points, any one of which would have been worth an episode or two or even three in their own right. But instead, they were all crammed into one hour. Here's what we discovered in the finale: -Ted met Tracy and decided not to go to Chicago. -Robin's job took her all over the world, with Barney struggling as he followed her. -After returning from Italy, Marshall resumed working in corporate law. -Lily got pregnant with her and Marshall's third child. -Tracy got pregnant, and between work and the kids, her and Ted postponed their wedding. -Robin and Barney divorced and Barney returned to his womanizing ways. -Marshall was offered a judgeship and accepted it. -Robin became a workaholic, never seeing her friends and growing apart from them. -Marshall and Lily left the apartment because it was too small for their growing family. -Barney attempted a perfect month and accidentally impregnated a woman, but upon meeting his daughter fell in love with her and changed. -Ted and Tracy finally married, with Tracy inviting Robin to the wedding, showing that unlike Victoria or Stella that she understood how important Ted and Robin's friendship was. -Marshall ran for State Supreme Court. -Tracy died of an illness. -The show ended six years after Tracy's death with Ted and Robin getting together. All of that. In. One. Hour. Why was so much of the season wasted on worthless filler material when they had all these stories to fit into the series?
