Quirk: One For All

It's easy to call Midoriya the heart of this show. As far as protagonists go, Deku hits the nail on the head with the might of One For All. He's got a great spirit, tonnes of energy and a progression arc that turns him into one of the most flawed - yet admirable - leading anime figures of the modern era.

Midoriya charms you right off the bat, as his dedication and desire to become a hero are heart-warming. Watching him jump headlong into danger despite being weak and having no quirk was jaw-dropping, and his eventual rise as the inheritor of All-Might's power felt truly deserved.

He indeed gets everything right, as he's inspiring, goofy, hard-working and likeable. But, most of all, he's fun to watch in fights. Putting his body at risk to save people always makes his battles tense, but his abilities are also awe-inspiring, especially when he starts to get a grip on his newfound powers.

Deku is undoubtedly one of the biggest faces in Shounen anime and only gets bested out by one other...
