Casting can be a tough nut to crack, but that nut is harder than diamonds when you've got to contend with picking real-life actors to play animated characters. How does One Piece fair? Well, shockingly, it manages to pull it off.

The main cast does a stunning job with the characters. While they have differing approaches, each completely suits their parts and adds a new spin to them.

Mackenyu plays Zoro with unabashed coolness. Emily Rudd effortlessly captures Nami's inner conflict and acts as the driving force of the crew. Taz Skyler is charming and likable as Sanji, and Jacob Romero is amusing as Usopp. Still, the MVP of the show is IƱaki Godoy, who nails the role of Luffy.

It's like Godoy was born to play this role, as he effortlessly captures the character's goofiness, unpredictability, humour, and gravitas. But, most of all, he emits Luffy's uncompromising spirit and determination.

The supporting cast also impresses, with actors like Vincent Regan (Garp), Jeff Ward (Buggy), Peter Gadiot (Shanks), and Steven John Ward (Mihawk) shining in their respective roles.

Finally, those who want a nostalgia hit will love the Japanese dub, which features many of the same voice actors as the original anime. It's a win, win, win!
