New Girl: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best

5. Season Six

The biggest issue with season six comes with the Nick-Jess-Reagan love triangle, which began in the previous season and here just feels like an overwrought obstacle used to emphasise that Nick and Jess are going to end up together.

That being said, the triangle does end on a major high when Nick and Jess reunite in the season finale, which is a great development that perhaps would have benefitted from moving just a little bit quicker. The season also improves on Winston and Aly's blossoming relationship, and Schmidt and Cece's early days of marriage.

Of course, it wouldn't be fair to talk about the season without mentioning its all-too-brief crossover with Brooklyn Nine-Nine, or the reintroduction of the accident prone Robby. These developments feature some of the show's funniest and most enjoyable twists, and the season soars with them.

Sure, there are the aforementioned pacing issues and the too-much romantic triangle, but between Schmidt's attempts to get Nick to realise his feelings for Jess, the quick-witted humour and inventive crossovers, season six is seriously great fun.
