Everybody loves a guest appearance from Peter Serafinowicz. Those who watched Black Books will know just what his powerful voice can do to an unsuspecting pair of loins. However in Parks and Recreation, Serafinowicz is not the husky, sexy villain that he often portrays, but a fun-loving, child-like member of the gentry. Lord Covington, or Eddy as he prefers to be called, is introduced as the head of an English charity foundation that Ben and Andy go to meet to expand their music program. In true British form, he introduces himself as "your Royal Excellency Lord Edgar Derby Covington, 14th Earl of Cornwall-Upon-Thames, 29th Baron of Hertfordshire" before admitting he was kidding and bursting into laughter. As it turns out, Covington is far from a stuffy English stereotype, and he and Andy become fast friends in the face of Ben's frustration to secure funding for the program. The expectation for Lord Covington before we met him was built up leading us to believe that he would be an up-tight aristocrat who would be rather dismissive of Ben and Andy. Instead we meet a man who got lost in a hedge maze for two days (but he did find a yo-yo, so it's cool). As such, Covington immediately warms to Andy's child-like playfulness and ignores Ben's calls to get down to business, but Ben needn't have been worried. Covington asked Andy to stay in London with him to set up the non-profit, and Serafinowicz was delightfully adorable as him.
