Preacher Season 3: 5 Ups And 1 Down From 'The Tombs'

Ups...

5. The Humour

Preacher Cassidy
AMC

Cassidy has long been Preacher's saving grace. Even when the AMC series delivers one of its less than stellar instalments, the Irish vampire - played magnificently by Joseph Gilgun - saves the show with his humour. This season, the writing has been really strong in regards to Cassidy's comedy moments, and The Tombs gave us one of the supernatural creature's best segments yet.

Following a devastating fight in The Tombs, Cassidy is unable to break free, as he has now become the fighting pit's latest attraction. In an attempt to help his friend, Jesse cuts Cassidy up into tiny little pieces, and decides he'll ship the vampire back to New Orleans. As he parcels Cassidy's limbs up, the vampire's head talks to the preacher, suggesting that he might've thought of a better way to get him to safety. As always, Gilgun's delivery (pun intended) is pure gold.
