10 Greatest Punisher Moments From Daredevil: Season 2

5. 'Just Two Guys Who Are Never Going To Leave A Diner Again'. Until They Carry Them Out In Body Bags

Karen agrees with Frank, in a roundabout way. She punished a man who deserved it and the finality was necessary. She alludes to this throughout the show, never outright stating to Frank that she's murdered a known, hardcore criminal herself but you can tell she is somehow seeking his approval.

It's a sympathetic relationship and allows Frank to open up, something he rarely does. With the correct writer, it doesn't seem forced and Karen and Frank's weird partnership was actually one of the true highlights of the show. Two supporting characters supporting one another. In fact, I'd say it was the most interesting pairing of all the characters and completely unexpected.

There are many instances between the two that could create an entire article of their own. But the diner stands out the  most.

Frank saves Karen from getting killed by the Blacksmith's mercenaries (even covering her from the bullets with his body). They then go to a diner together to get a cup of coffee. At this moment, you see Frank, the 'real' Frank, talking like a normal human being, relaxed and comfortable. But it's all a ruse; he took Karen there as bait for the Blacksmith. It's Karen's facial expression while she hears Frank killing someone that reveals she now knows the true Castle, the violent, angry man. It's heartbreaking, as she held out hope him.

It all ends with Frank about to kill the Blacksmith and Karen telling him that if he does it, he's dead to her. He replies, 'I'm already dead' and she leaves.

But he leaves his favourite song in her car, just to let her know that it's over, the Blacksmith is gone and she's safe.
