Natural Born Kissers focused on some martial trouble for Homer and Marge, in the context of waning libido. To combat it, they try out their exhibitionist side.
Like politics, sex is an iffy subject on The Simpsons. Back in 1998, when the episode aired, it was a topic almost unmentioned outside of the episode Bart After Dark (featuring the Burlesque House), and even then the subject was treated delicately. It's strange to think about it, but really, seeing Homer and Marge get sexual, for some fans, is almost like family doing it. Gross.
Still, it was a pretty funny episode overall, complete with the prerequisite "sex in the windmill at the mini-golf course" scene. In the end, the pair wind up exposed at a football game, and wind up forced to have to explain sex to the kids (which gets cut short anyway).
