Red Dwarf X: 10 Reasons To Be Excited

4. Studio Audience

Anyone following this article, and any other news from the Red Dwarf camp has no doubt come across the fact that series X was filmed in front of a studio audience. Another small bit of what made Red Dwarf great is back! The lack of audience was noticeable in series VII and Back to Earth, and the more €œfilmized€ tone of those offerings have met with fan criticism nearly across the board. It must be said that filming in front of an audience changes the energy for every episode. The actors feed off the energy of the crowd and the crowd€™s reactions let the actors and writers know what is working and what isn€™t. A return to this part of "Dwarf-dom" can only be a good thing. Not to mention, fan reaction from those who have attended filming of series X has been nothing but positive. The general consensus being that the show is returning to what made the earlier series funny.
