Riverdale: 10 Craziest Moments (So Far)
7. The River Vixens Perform Jailhouse Rock (Season 3)
In this particular scene, Archie was serving a term in a juvenile detention centre after Hiram Lodge framed him for murder - but that's not even the moment we're highlighting. Riverdale is a show that likes to push things one step further. Determined to cheer her boyfriend up, Veronica (Camila Mendes) enlisted the help of Josie (Ashleigh Murray), Cheryl (Madeleine Petsch) and the other River Vixens to perform a rendition of Elvis Presley's 'Jailhouse Rock.'
This isn't a situation most teenagers would ever find themselves in but it's just another normal day in Riverdale. What is particularly strange about this scene is the reaction from the boys. It's no surprise that they're excited about this little treat for them but the way they all scramble up the wire fencing looks like something out of The Walking Dead. The testosterone levels are off the scale.
Riverdale isn't a musical in terms of genre, but that certainly doesn't stop it from throwing in as many musical numbers as it can. Admittedly, they're usually very fun and a good chance to showcase the cast's musical talent, but that doesn't mean they always make sense. Veronica could have raised Archie's spirits by visiting, but this over-the-top display is more in keeping with Riverdale's style.
