5. The Strong Character Development

Even if season two has far too many characters to juggle, it nevertheless does an impressive job of delving deeper into many of the characters introduced in the first season, especially those minor fixtures who perhaps didn't get their fair due last time.

English teacher Miss Sands (Rakhee Thakrar) benefits from a deeper exploration this time around with an entertaining dive into her own romantic woes, while Headmaster Mr. Groff (Alistair Petrie) graduates from an uptight cartoon into a human being with a little more shade to him.

If Adam's mother Maureen (Samantha Spiro) was a near-silent repressed wife stereotype last season, she's also develped further as a person with real agency in her own right, and her interactions with Jean are some of the strongest of the entire season.

It's absolutely crucial for a drama show's longevity that characters grow and evolve over time, whether for better or worse, and Sex Education thankfully seems to acutely understand that.
