Sons Of Anarchy: 10 Best Forest Rangers Songs
7. Sitting On Top Of The World - Chris Goss & The Forest Rangers (featuring Scott Shriner)
If ever there was a perfect song to accompany something slowly burning away whilst you watch on, this is it.
Unlike Son of a Preacher Man and John the Revelator, which don't stray too far from the original songs, this version is totally different, and in my humble opinion, much better.
The track is used at the ending of Season 6 Episode 4, and signifies the end for one of the biggest threats to the club, Lee Toric, as well as the undoubtedly long overdue, but no less sad death of one of the clubs longest and most loyal members even on the inside, Otto Delaney. SAMCRO member Phil also meets his end in this episode, along with a SAMCRO Prospect.
The heavy sound of this song is helped with the bass playing of Weezer bassist Scott Schriner, who featured on a song from Season 1, I'm Eighteen, and the vocals of Chris Goss, who appears for the first time alongside The Forest Rangers. The heavier sound of this version completely changes it from the original country blues style and leaves us with a snarling behemoth of a hard rock track.
