Star Trek: All Good Things - Reality Vs Fiction

4. Geordi LaForge

Star Trek Future Geordi
CBS

What Happens In The Episode: Geordi LaForge's story in Picard's future may in fact come to pass. As depicted, he is shown to have new cybernetic eyes, which he does receive before the events of Star Trek: First Contact. As this is so far in the future, the events of Star Trek: Picard may not have much bearing on his fate.

Here, he is married to Dr Leah Brahms, head of the Daystrom Institute and one of the key designers on the Galaxy-class vessels. While his relationship with her in the series had been certainly eventful, there was nothing to say that they didn't eventually fall in love.

What Really Happened: First, however, Geordi must be promoted to Captain. Star Trek: Voyager's episode Timeless shows him as the captain of the USS Challenger, another Galaxy-class ship, attempting to stop an alternate version of Chakotay and Harry Kim from changing history. They are successful in doing this, so Captain LaForge's fate is still unknown. In the Prime timeline, we know that he becomes the chief of the Romulan relief effort and according to Dr Una McCormack's novel The Last Best Hope, the audience knows that thankfully he escaped the devastating Synth attack.

It remains to be seen what Star Trek: Picard will do with him as a character, though a family with Leah Brahms may still be on the cards.
