Star Trek Discovery Season 3: Everything You Need To Know
6. War Is Over
While Discovery was stranded in the Mirror Universe, the Federation suffered enormous losses to the Klingons and desperate measures are now required.
With the former leader of a murderous regime at their disposal, Starfleet determines that Emperor Georgiou is the perfect woman to take Discovery on a highly dangerous mission. The plan is to use Discovery's spore drive to jump the ship inside the Klingon home planet, where it will release a done to map the surface and give Starfleet targets to mount a strike.
At the Klingon homeworld, though, Michael discovers that Georgiou hasn't been sent to map the planet, she's been sent to destroy it by releasing a bomb, not a drone into its center. Incensed by this highly immoral act on the part of Starfleet, Michael and the crew of Discovery threaten a mutiny if Starfleet and the Emperor don't back down.
With the help of Ash – still struggling with his identity and his feelings for both Michael and L'Rell (it's complicated) – the crew convinces Georgiou to hand control of the bomb over to L'Rell. Empowered by the threat of the bomb planted at the center of the Klingon homeworld, Ash and L'Rell seize control of the empire and end the war.
Emperor Georgiou is given Federation citizenship on the promise she won't cause too much trouble, and she slinks away to run a brothel on the Klingon planet.
Back on Earth, Starfleet decorates the crew and gives Micheal a full pardon, placing her on active duty as the science officer of the USS Discovery.
