Star Trek: EVERY Chief Of Security Ranked From WORST To BEST

12. Kayshon - USS Cerritos

It was wonderful to finally see a Tamarian in Starfleet, and his difficulty transitioning from the metaphorical form of his own language warmed our nostalgic hearts. It made Dathon's sacrifice in The Next Generation episode Darmok worth every tear.

There was a slight problem, though. Given that Kayshon's very first outing with the Lower Decks gang ended with him being turned into a puppet...well, it was a little tricky to take him completely seriously after that. And yet, strangely, he wouldn't be the last Starfleet officer we'd see in puppet form. Who'd have thought it?

However, once restored to his normal self, he proved to be a solid chief of security, even amongst the Lower Decks shenanigans. He contended with exasperating Pakled nonsense, withstood his possessed captain, and grappled with out-of-control holograms on the legendary Voyager. But it was his surprisingly gentle nature amid all the chaos that became his most endearing quality.

Many a fan was thrilled to see the mysterious return of Shaxs, but it left us worried about what might happen to Kayshon. Much to our relief, Kayshon was allowed to remain on the Cerritos alongside that rippling stack of muscles, and the pair worked side by side to protect the crew...mostly from themselves.
